Our Impact
Magic Cycle moves highly perishable and surplus food quickly from local markets, farms, and community donors into trusted community networks serving families, shelters, schools, churches, and people facing food insecurity.
Our decentralized, relationship-based model allows healthy food to move rapidly where it is needed most — reducing waste while strengthening community resilience. In many cases, Magic Cycle also helps support local reuse and return systems, including community milk bottle returns that help keep resources circulating responsibly.

What is perishable first recovery?
Perishable first recovery prioritizes fresh produce, prepared foods, dairy, meats, frozen foods, dry goods, plant-based proteins and milks, surplus food, and other high-value perishables, moving them quickly through trusted local community networks, while helping strengthen and establish local distribution points where they are most needed.
Beyond food
When possible, clothing, household essentials, furniture, and other useful goods are also redirected through the same trusted community relationships to reduce waste and support people in need.
